I am celebrating it with a sweepstake for a 10-hour project involving research in Danish genealogy records.</p> <p>There are many options for the research question for the project, for instance:</p> <ul> <li>Identify your immigrant ancestor's birthplace in Denmark</li> <li>Identify the parents of one of your Danish ancestors</li> <li>Identify your Danish ancestor's descendants who remained in Denmark</li> <li>Determine the address in Denmark of one or more residences of your Danish ancestor</li> </ul> <p>These are just examples. Perhaps you have another research question in mind if you are the lucky winner.</p> <p>There are, of course, rules for participation in the sweepstake. I hope many will think it is worth participating to win a 10-hour Denmark genealogy research project.</p> <h2>Sweepstake Rules</h2> <p>The sweepstake is managed by Lene Kottal, Certified Genealogist® as the owner of the sole proprietorship Lene Kottal Professional Genealogy, Rulkedalen 9, 5260 Odense S, Denmark, business registration number 34845298. Neither Facebook nor other businesses or organizations are associated with this sweepstake.</p> <p>Participation does not require a purchase and is free. The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or other services or products.</p> <p>The sweepstake has two purposes for Lene Kottal Professional Genealogy:</p> <ul> <li>To market the genealogical services of Lene Kottal Professional Genealogy.</li> <li>To give Lene Kottal Professional Genealogy insight into its potential target group.</li> </ul> <p>The sweepstake ends at midnight GMT between 31 January and 1 February 2023. The winner will be drawn on 1 February 2023.</p> <h3>What Is the Prize?</h3> <p>The prize is one research project of 10 hours by Lene Kottal involving research in online genealogical sources in Danish. Sources from subscription sites can be used in the project if Lene Kottal Professional Genealogy already has a subscription to the site. Some sources are protected by copyright, restricted due to privacy laws, or otherwise restricted from copying. Copies of such records cannot be delivered as a part of this project.</p> <p>The research question for the project will be agreed upon in cooperation between Lene Kottal and the winner. Lene Kottal retains the right to reject a research question, and the winner can suggest another one. Reasons for rejection could be but are not limited to, that the subject cannot be researched by use of online records or that the background information provided by the client is insufficient to research the subject.</p> <p>Lene Kottal cannot guarantee that a research question can be solved through the research, but she will do her best and work efficiently to cover as much as possible within the available ten hours.</p> <h3>Who Can Participate?</h3> <p>Participation is open to private persons above the age of 18 years and who do <em>not</em> reside in Denmark. Lene Kottal Professional Genealogy retains the right to ask for proof of the age and residence of the winner, for instance, a photo ID. Members of Lene Kottal's household and anyone involved in the sweepstake organization cannot participate.</p> <p>Each person can only participate once.
